My first dog was a bitch called Wisky, an English Cocker Spaniel. We bought her
when we were just married. She had gold coloured hair and she was the dog that
wen on board with us. Wisky soon got a friend called Blaky, also a bitch, and also
an English Cocker Spaniel.
Because we went sailing on the Rhine, they accompanied us on the boat,and this
lasted for two and a half years.After that we went to live ashore, but unfortunately
Blacky couldn't stay with us.She went to live with an elderly couple in Dordrecht
whose dog had just died;it was run over by a car. Unfortunately Wisky didn't live long
after that, she died of uterus cancer.
We knew fairly quickly then that we wanted a Scottish Collie, and we found one with
Toon en Bernadette Ter Horst who lived in Azewijn ;Rinty,which we were going to
call him, would get the full name;Rinty Of The Collie Village. He came from a nest of
three. He had one brother (Rendy) and one sister (Rebecca).
It was a lovely dog, only his ears couldn't stand upright a muscle was hit
while he had his number tattooed. but that didn't matter to us.
We were lucky to have us for thirteen years, when this friend also died.
For a while we didn't know what kind of dog to get next.But eventually we ended up
with another Cocker Spaniel. This time a blond American one this time,and again a
male.It was a lovely cheeky animal which we have been through a lot of fun with, still
Rinty always stayed in the back of our minds.Because he was such a nice dog,and
also a Scottish Collie which is a lovely breed.We also said that if we would ever get
a new dog,it would be a Scottish Collie again.
Goldie stayed with us for eleven great years before we eventually had to let him go.
Of course this also left emptiness with us.
Well,were not the kind of people that can live without a dog,so we started searching
for a new dog.As we always said,this was going to be a Scottish Collie. We found
one at Linda and Richard Berghout who lived in Sommelsdijk.
With them we found Leddy. He came from a nest of seven dogs.His full name is;
Sea Dreamers Riverdance.we were very happy to welcome him to our family.
we fully enjoyed his stay the firstyear,and it didnt take long for us to decide that we
wanted a second Collie.We soon found a nest at Ton and Tiny de Wit from
Lepelstraat,with help of Linda.That's where Luka, a male, came from.He only has
one sister.Luka's full name is;Fannlaugh Of The Cinliboy House.Both Collies live in
our house and we enjoy having them around every day.As you just read,it's like a
virus:once you've had a Scottish Collie,you'll never want any other dog.
And indeed we have yet another Collie friend in our familie.His name is Rendy ,He comes frome a nest of 9 puppies.He has 6 sisters and 2 brothers. His full name is : Kiss The Sky of Paddington Station . We got him from Desiree Verroen in Alkmaar .
So we now have three wonderful Collies living whith us, Which we enjoy every day. It is kind an addiction,So you"ll never know what can happen...
